EAA Drill of the Week - Hitting - Stretch & Fire

The Stretch & Fire Drill is one of our four foundational drills for hitters.  We use this drill to teach hitters how to get separation between their upper and lower bodies, how to get on plane, how to launch from the rear leg and not lunge at the ball, and how to launch from the proper position quickly.

This is a "Constraint Drill" which can be defined as “putting your body into an unnatural position in order to focus on a specific part of your movement pattern."  This will help isolate and feel the fundamental movements to blend with a normal swing.

This is a great drill to begin with off a tee and can be progressed to front toss once the movements are mastered.
